05 - Data Manager

Data Manager is probably one of the best plugins for ComicRack. It is extremely versatile and i would suggest you read my guide on it here.

Folder Structure

My Data Manager setup consists of 6 smart lists, but this could change based on your specific preferances.

You can download my Data Manager file here. Download the newest file and rename it 'dataman.dat'.

5.1 DataManager

Download smart list: 5.1 DataManager.cbl

This first smart list is not actually one i use a lot. It gives an overview of all the comics ready for tagging with Data Manager, but i normally use smart list 5.2-5.6 to actually run Data Manager on. So even though the action box shows to run Data Manager on the comics, i suggest you do nothing in this list.

5.2 Publishers check to delete or keep

This list is very dynamic and will change over time as you add more and more publisher. The list contains publishers that hasn't been added to Data Manager yet. Whenever you open this list and see comics in it you should do either of the following:

If you want to keep the comics and tag them:

  1. Edit the smart list and add the publishers name to the bottom of the list
  2. Add the same name to the smart list in Section 5.3 Publishers

If you dont want to keep the comics:

  1. Delete the comics

  1. Open the Data Manager configuration (press the little arrow next to the icon on the menubar)
  2. Double click on Publishers to keep
  3. Click on Publishers
  4. Press the yellow pencil (see image)
  5. Add the publishers name
  6. Press OK
  7. Press File and then Save
