05 - Data Manager¶
Data Manager is one of the best plugins for ComicRack. It’s extremely versatile, and I suggest reading my detailed guide on it here.
Folder Structure
My Data Manager setup consists of 6 smart lists, but this may vary depending on your preferences.
You can download my Data Manager file here.
Download the newest file and rename it dataman.dat.
5.1 Data Manager¶
Download smart list: 5.1 DataManager.cbl
This first smart list isn’t one I use often. It gives an overview of all the comics ready for tagging with Data Manager, but I usually use smart lists 5.2–5.6 to actually run Data Manager.
Even though the Action box says to run Data Manager on the comics, I suggest you do nothing in this list.

5.2 Publishers – Check to Delete or Keep¶

This list changes dynamically as you add more publishers.
It shows publishers that haven’t yet been added to Data Manager.
When you see comics here, you should either:
If you want to keep them and tag them:
1. Edit the smart list and add the publisher’s name to the bottom.
2. Add the same name to the smart list in Section 5.3 Publishers.
If you don’t want to keep them:
- Delete the comics.

5.3 Publishers¶

After deciding in you want to keep a publisher or not, the publishers to keep will be shown here.
In order to tag them correctly you need add them to Data Manager. This is done by;

To tag them correctly, you must add them to Data Manager:
- Open the Data Manager configuration (click the arrow next to the menu bar icon).
- Double-click
Publishers to keep. - Click on
Publishers. - Press the yellow pencil (see image).
- Add the publisher’s name.
- Press OK.
- Go to File → Save.
Your publisher is now saved and can be tagged correctly.

This smart list is a work in progress. It’s experimental and not complete yet.
